Luca Matti nasce nel 1964 a Firenze, dove vive e lavora, Si occupa per lungo tempo di fumetto, illustrazione e grafica, collaborando con riviste e case editrici. Dal 1988 si dedica alla pittura e alla creazione di opere scultoree in camera d'aria sviluppando un personalissimo stile che lo colloca tra i giovani artisti di spicco della scena italiana. Dal 1994 il suo lavoro si concentra su tematiche legate al rapporto dell'uomo con la città utilizzando esclusivamente due colori: il bianco e il nero.
Con gli anni ha composto un'iconografia di oggetti e interni domestici, di panorami urbani e di figure a metà fra l'uomo e l'insetto. Nel suo lavoro non ci sono confini tra disegno, pittura, scultura e video-animazione. I vari linguaggi si condizionano e contaminano tra loro, dando vita a un universo fatto di storie, suggestioni, sogni; una fiction in bianco e nero.
